Erik graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Biology. Prior to joining
MDRCBB in his current role, he contributed to the lab on a part time basis since 2016.
Moving forward, Erik will primarily work with company related projects, however, being
trained to analyze surfaces by XPS, fluorescent microscopy, and dynamic water contact
angles he will likely contribute in a minor role to a variety of projects.

Ahmed Youssef earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering Program from the University of Minnesota. He is currently a dental student and pursuing his MS in Biomedical Engineering working on stem cells derived from the periodontal ligament to investigate their regenerative potential for therapeutic outcomes. His two-year project will involve the novel application of three-dimensional hydrogels to simulate inflammatory stimuli and investigate their effect on the stem cells. In his time away from work, Ahmed likes to run, bike, and teach children Arabic on weekends.
